Activities and Such...

Here are the announcements for this week:
  • Tithing Settlement will be held for the LAST time at 6:00 p.m. Thursday night. If you haven't done that yet, you need to get it done or the bishop will have to declare it for you. Even if you don't have a job and aren't earning any money, 10% of 0 is 0 so go declare if your a full tithe payer or not.
  • The First Presidency Christmas Devotional will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. They will be showing it in the Hart, Taylor, Kirkham, and Hinckley buildings. It is also shown on TV.
  • Ward FHE will be tomorrow in Hinckley 240 at 7:00 p.m. The From the Heart will be doing their program for us.
  • There will be a Ward Activity on Wednesday at 6:30 in Hinckley 286. There will be pizza and games.
  • Elders Quorum 2 will be having an activity on Saturday in the Sunrise lounge. It will be held at 1:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. Contact Joe with any questions.
  • Get your visiting teaching and home teaching done this week. The semester is about done so you don't have as much time this month to get it done.

Devotional Next Week

Gather for Devotional
We invite you to Gather for Devotional each Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium, Hinckley Chapel, Taylor Chapel, Kirkham Auditorium, or Snow Drama Theater. E. Dennis Tolman, Health Science Faculty at BYU-Idaho, will be the speaker on December 7.

We encourage you to come prepared for devotional by visiting the devotional website at www.byui.edu/devotionals where you can read the preparation scriptures and print the note page. We know that as you prepare yourself to be taught and gather with us each week, your life will be enriched.

FYI.. This is Bishop Tolman. He was the Bishop before Bishop Hendrickson.

Thanksgiving Break

For those of you who will be here for the Thanksgiving break, here are a list of the activities going on here on campus:

Thanksgiving Pie Social: 
November 23rd  
Time: 5pm – 7pm 
Place: Hinckley Building 
Cost: $1 per person (for a bucket load of pie) (7yrs and younger are FREE) 
A Pie Social is the perfect way to prepare your stomach for the big feast so why not desserts first before you are too full? 
Family Friendly, games for adults and kids. Cost is $1, don’t stop with just one piece of pie. 

Hike – Sheep Falls: 
Saturday November 27th 
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM 
Cost: $6.00 – Transportation is provided 
Life is short…get out and hike with us.  This area has so many pretty views to offer and there is nothing better than looking 
out over the valley while on the mountain top. 

Stadium Singing: 
Sunday, November 28th 
7:45 PM – 10:30 PM 
Location:  Fields Under the Stadium 
Come join in singing the hymns: 
Chinese at 8:00 
Spanish at 8:45 
English at 9:30

Ornament Extravaganza: (In place of Christmas Tree Lane 
December 6th
5:00pm to 7:00pm 
Come enjoy some Christmas cheer at the Ornament Extravaganza on December 6th at the Manwaring Center. We invite all 
societies, wards, stakes, and academic departments (everyone on campus) to enter 1 or more ornament that represents 
them. There will be a lighting of the tree on December 6th with hot chocolate and candy canes. Family friendly event, Santa 
will be coming to town this night as well, pictures will be available for $5 or you may take your own pictures. If you would like 
to enter an ornament please email socialevents@byui.edu, in the subject line please add "Ornament Extravaganza". 

Family Home Evening Ideas: 
December 1st 
7pm to 8:30 
Hinckley Multi-purpose room 
Cost: $2 per booklet (each FHE group) or $ 1 per married student family 
All FHE groups and families are welcome to attend! Eat cookies, have fun, and gain new ideas for FHE activities! Come 
participate in some fun activities and leave with a booklet of activities that you can take home and use for your own FHE 
nights. Tickets for a booklet can be purchased at the Ticket Office only and at the door (no online tickets available) .

Halloween Pictures!

Hey everyone!
I have received the pictures from our ward Halloween party last Saturday! First here are the announcements for this week:

  • Stake Choir will be held at 5 p.m. in Snow 181. We need at least 10 men and 10 women.
  • We invite all temple recommend holders to fill the temple. Youth mayparticipate in proxy baptisms during assigned ward invitations or when using their own "Limited Use" recommend during walk-in times. In addition to ward and stake invitations. The walk in times are as follows:
    • Baptisms        8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    • Initiatory        6:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    • Endowments  6:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    • Sealings         7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. 
  • Next week, November 13th and 14th is Stake Conference. Priesthood Leadership Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. in the Snow on Saturday. The Adult Session will be held at 6 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium on Saturday as well. The General Session will be on Sunday in the Hart Auditorium at 10 a.m.
  • Worldwide leadership broadcast will be Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Hart Auditorium. 
  • On November 21st, the 41,42,46,57,66, and 82nd wards will be hosted by the 42nd ward at 12:00p.m. in the Kirkham.

Announcements

Here are the announcements for this week:

  • World Wide Leadership Training Broadcast - Saturday November 13th at 9 a.m. in the Hart Auditorium.Bishopric, Ward Clerks, Executive Secretaries, Elders Quorum Presidencies, Relief Society Presidencies, and Ward Mission Leaders are all required to go. 
  • Stake Conference will be November 13th and 14th. Stake Priesthood Leadership is Saturday the 13th at 2 p.m. in Spori 35. The Adult Session will be Saturday evening at 6 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium. The Sunday session will be at 10 a.m. in the Hart Auditorium. 
  • Sunday November 21st church will be held at 12 p.m.in the Kirkham.

Ward Party This Saturday!

Here are the announcements for this week:

  • Ward Activity this Saturday at 7 p.m. in Kirkham 202. We will be playing games and having a dessert potluck. We ask each apartment to bring a favorite dessert.
  • Stake choir will start October 31st at 5 p.m. in Snow 181. We need 10 girls and 10 guys.

Announcements

Here are the announcements for this week:
  • Relief Society Fireside Oct. 17th in the Taylor Chapel, at 6 pm.  It is Sunday Dress.
  • Ward temple assignment October 19, 2010 20 Sisters and 20 Brothers are needed. They also need eight endowed brethren and three endowed sisters. If you have early morning classes, Temple Officiators will see that you are allowed priority.

Introducing David Carter Nicolaysen

We (Brother and Sister Nicolaysen) welcomed our first son into the world on Saturday, October 9th at 4:44am. He was 7 lbs 14 oz, 19 inches long and has strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, and dimples. He's an adorable little man and we're very excited to have him in our family. We'll bring him by the ward in the coming Sundays to meet everybody.

7 Week Break

Hey everyone! The 7 week break is coming up and that means ward schedules are going to be a little different. So for those of you who are going to be here, here is your schedule!


9:00 AM in the Snow Building. The 82nd Ward will be hosting 2,41,46, and 82 wards with Priesthood / Relief Society first. This will be the only ward that meets in the Snow Building so if your not sure where to go, just follow the crowd.

Ward FHE Tonight!

Hey everyone!
We only have a couple of announcements today.

  • Ward FHE 8 p.m. at Bishop Hendrickson’s house then Fireworks at Menan!! Everyone will meet at 7:15 p.m. in the Snow Parking lot for carpools. 
  • The Ward Closing Social is going to be a talent show! It will be Monday, July 12. If you would like to perform a talent, just let Celeste know.
